The recommended tool for most applications is a high density foam roller (rounded on both ends) for a beautiful factory-like finish.

Use a high quality synthetic bristle brush for latex paint for those difficult to reach areas (corners, edges, contoured uneven surfaces etc.). A long handle angular sash brush helps when painting cabinet styles next to ceilings or walls.

A conventional paint sprayer will result in a "glass smooth" finish. Spray application is also recommended to obtain a smooth even finish over heavily textured or contoured surfaces.
